Cinnamon Turmeric Iced Tea (aka. golden iced tea)

Cinnamon Turmeric Iced Tea (aka. golden iced tea)

I've been similar to this as far as I could recall, continually requesting a huge glass of the stuff with lemon when I was out to eat, drinking almost a gallon of it daily amid my pinnacle b-ball and softball years, and going after a glass to combine with my ceaseless bowl box of Cheez-its after school.

At the point when my family and I went to San Francisco when I was more youthful, I delighted in driving the Golden Gate Bridge, eating every one of the sustenances, and seeing the locales, yet I unmistakably recollect how obviously ideal the frosted tea there was.

We've all known about the entire "brilliant milk" pattern that has turned out to be ludicrously famous as of late, correct? (psh we've been doing that since mid 2015) If not, it's basically a blend of turmeric and some kind of milk almond, cashew, coconut, what have you, and it's touted for having these insane medical advantages. Well today, companions, we're making GOLDEN ICED TEA!

Turmeric has been at the bleeding edge of our morning schedules for as far back as couple of weeks. Imprint got truly into the possibility of turmeric for its mitigating properties to such an extent, he was prepared to purchase a 2 lb. sack of it off of Amazon a few days ago - , so he's been blending it into his tea/coconut oil blend and I've been blending it alongside my green tea and almond milk.

This Cinnamon Turmeric Iced Tea is a straightforward and invigorating late spring beverage stuffed with flavor and sound fixings! Also, it's veggie lover and gluten free!

Cinnamon Turmeric Iced Tea (aka. golden iced tea)

Ingredients

  • 1-2 Tbsp. black or green looseleaf tea* (I used half English Breakfast, half Ceylon. Oolong is fantastic, too!)
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. turmeric
  • 1 tsp.+ maple syrup, honey, or sweetener of choice**
  • lemon slices, optional

Instructions

  1. Add all tea, cinnamon, turmeric, and sweetener to the base of a french press.
  2. Add hot water half way and allow to steep for 3-5 minutes stirring once, then press. Allow to cool slightly, then remove the press and fill with ice cubes.
  3. Allow to come to room temperature, then press, pour into an ice-filled glass, and serve with a lemon slice.

Notes
*I very much fall into the camp that stronger iced tea is always better. 2 Tbsp. of tea here is really strong. Feel free to use less if desired.
**1 tsp. sweetener isnt very sweet at all. Im a huge fan of unsweetened tea, but a little bit here works really well with the cinnamon. Just a tip!
